Dr. Finch grew up in a US Army family, living in the United States and overseas. He earned his BS from the University of Nevada at Reno and his DDS from the UCLA School of Dentistry, and then served for 3 years as a dentist in the US Air Force. Since the opening of his general dental practice in State College, thousands of patients in his private practice and two area nursing homes have had the benefit of his care, skill, and judgment, honed through his continual pursuit of advanced dental education.

Dr. Finch has trained extensively at the Center for Advanced Dental Studies in Boston, the LD Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, and the Kois Center in Seattle, all world-renowned. Additionally, he has completed thousands of hours of training in shorter programs. His practice has evolved to focus on providing comprehensive preventive, restorative, and prosthetic (tooth replacement) dental care for persons of all ages, and includes dental implant services, the treatment of bite and jaw (TMJ, TMD) problems and sleep apnea, and cosmetic dental concerns. A long-term risk-based health strategy is created for each of his patients. Dr. Finch is known for his meticulous attention to detail in both his treatment planning and dental treatment, so he receives many referrals from specialists for people with complicated treatment needs. He is also known for his gentle manner and patience, so many people who are fearful of dentistry have been referred to him by other dentists and as well as patients.

Dr. Finch’s family includes his wife, Linda Greenly-Finch, DDS (now retired from clinical dentistry), and 2 adult children. In addition to his passion for dentistry, Dr. Finch is also an avid gardener and tennis player, and serves on the board of Easter Seals of Central Pennsylvania.
